Galkayo – Armed men shot and killed a doctor in Galkayo on Tuesday night, local sources confirmed.

The victim, identified as Dr. Omar Abdi Dahir (Surweyn), was attacked while working at a local hospital. Witnesses said the killing was linked to clan-related revenge, though the doctor had no direct involvement in ongoing land disputes or conflicts in the city.

The assailants escaped immediately after the shooting. Security officials in Galkayo have not yet commented on the incident, and no arrests have been made.

Residents described Dr. Omar as a respected physician serving the community, and the killing has fueled renewed concerns about insecurity in Galkayo.
