The Somali Police Force has announced that a number of inmates escaped from Warta Nabadda District Police Station after an armed assault earlier today.

In an official statement, police confirmed that the attack enabled prisoners facing serious charges to flee custody, causing both damage to property and loss of life.

The statement strongly condemned the incident and specifically warned against armed groups and political figures accused of unlawfully deploying military vehicles and heavy weaponry within Mogadishu — practices strictly prohibited in the capital.

Authorities further cautioned the public against associating with groups seeking to destabilize security and stressed that security institutions have been instructed to take legal action against anyone found violating these directives.
