Addis Ababa (Raxanreeb Online) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed held a private meeting in Addis Ababa, focusing on bilateral relations and regional security.

Prime Minister Abiy emphasized Ethiopia’s readiness to strengthen its long-standing ties with Somalia.

“With the President of Somalia, we discussed enhancing the interests of both countries, as well as stability, security, and development,” Abiy wrote on his official Facebook page.

In addition to his meeting with the Somali leader, Prime Minister Abiy held separate talks with other heads of state and government who attended the inauguration of Ethiopia’s new hydroelectric dam.

The discussions largely centered on Ethiopia’s efforts to secure agreements for exporting electricity generated from the project.
