MOGADISHU (Raxanreeb) — Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said its forces, supported by international partners, carried out a planned operation in Ceel-dhiiqo Weyne, between Ceel-lahelay and Ceel-garas in Galgaduud region.

In a statement, NISA confirmed that 12 Al-Shabaab members, including senior commanders, were killed, while 13 others were seriously wounded. The strike targeted a military camp where the group was training over 400 fighters for planned attacks.

According to the agency, the operation destroyed the camp and foiled a “dangerous terrorist plot” against Somali civilians. NISA added that militants who survived fled toward Ceelbuur, where security forces are now pursuing them as part of wider clearance operations.
