Germany has formally granted full recognition to the Somali diplomatic passport, allowing its holders to enter and reside in the country. Previously, the document had only been recognized for exit procedures, limiting its effective use for Somali officials.
In a statement, the Somali Immigration and Citizenship Authority said the decision represents clear proof of progress in the modernization of Somalia’s travel documents, the improvement of migration services, and the strengthening of diplomatic ties between Somalia and Germany.
According to the Authority, this step marks an important milestone in consolidating bilateral relations and facilitating official travel between the two countries, further reinforcing Somalia’s diplomatic engagement on the international stage.
