Hargeisa, Somaliland– Somaliland security forces have detained MP Mohamed Abib shortly after his arrival at Hargeisa Airport on a return trip from the United Arab Emirates. Abib, known for his outspoken criticism of President Muse Bihi and his administration, was apprehended as he disembarked from his flight.

The reasons behind Abib’s arrest remain unclear, and the Somaliland government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Abib is a prominent opposition figure.
