HARGEISA – Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) today held a high-level strategic meeting with senior officers from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) focused on regional security cooperation.
During the talks, President Cirro expressed his gratitude for the officials’ visit and discussed strengthening collaboration on security in the Horn of Africa, emphasizing closer coordination between Somaliland and the United States.
The president underscored Somaliland’s strategic importance in the region, describing it as a “trusted partner” that has spent more than three decades working to promote security, democracy, and social development.
For their part, the U.S. officials praised Somaliland’s role in regional stability and pledged to accelerate joint efforts in security cooperation, military training, and technical assistance.
