Mogadishu: Gunfire Involving Soldiers Kills a young Bajaj Driver

Mogadishu — Additional details have emerged regarding the killing of a young man identified as Abdirisaq Abukar Mohamed Beereey, who was shot dead on Saturday night in the Barwaaqo area of Dayniile District, Banadir Region.

According to local reports, the victim was hit during an exchange of gunfire involving two government soldiers in the neighbourhood. One of the soldiers is alleged to have fired the fatal shot and fled the scene.

Amid limited employment opportunities in Mogadishu, Abdirisaq had reportedly been earning a living by working as a bajaj (three-wheeled taxi) driver.

As of the time of reporting, security authorities have not issued an official statement, and no publicly confirmed action has been announced by the relevant security agencies or the Dayniile district administration.
