Puntland security forces have successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting supplies to ISIS militants in the Baallde valley, during a meticulously planned operation aimed at disrupting the group’s logistical networks.
The operation took place in the Biyo Kulule area, located between the coastal city of Bosaso and the Baallde region. The intercepted vehicle—a Dhaynta-type truck—was reportedly carrying food supplies and solar-powered equipment intended for ISIS fighters who are currently besieged in the area.
According to a brief statement issued by Puntland’s security agencies, two young men accompanying the vehicle were also apprehended. Authorities suspect the individuals of covertly delivering the supplies to militants hiding in remote mountainous hideouts. Intelligence from within the group suggests that ISIS’s food and medical stockpiles have been depleted, forcing them to seek emergency resupplies from Bosaso amidst mounting pressure from security forces.
Security officials confirmed that ISIS fighters in Puntland are now concentrated in three key locations within the Baallde valley: Il-Abbal, Yucrin, and Maraagade—roughly 20 kilometers from Bosaso.
Puntland security forces have reiterated their commitment to intensifying counterterrorism operations in the Bari region, vowing to eliminate all remaining ISIS strongholds and restore long-term stability to the area.
