MOGADISHU, Somalia – A roadside mine explosion in Mogadishu’s Dayniile district killed three soldiers and injured three others overnight, according to local sources.
The blast happened as government forces were inspecting the area following an earlier explosion. The targeted vehicle belonged to the 77th brigade, which had been involved in training exercises at a local camp. The explosive device went off as the vehicle passed by.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Al-Shabaab, known for similar incidents, is suspected. This event breaks a period of reduced violence in the capital. Somali security forces have been working to stabilize the region and prevent further attacks.
