Mogadishu (Raxanreeb Online) – The Federal Government of Somalia has confirmed an airstrike conducted last night in the Calmiskaad Mountains of the Bari region, in coordination with the Somali National Army and U.S. forces.

According to an official statement, the airstrike targeted locations where remnants of ISIS leaders were allegedly hiding. The government emphasized that the operation was part of broader counterterrorism efforts aimed at dismantling militant networks in the region.

“This well-coordinated operation was carried out to support ongoing campaigns led by Puntland’s Darawish forces in eliminating ISIS militants. An assessment of the impact is still in progress,” the statement read.

The Somali government has not yet disclosed details on casualties resulting from the strike, stating that evaluations are currently underway to determine the full extent of the operation’s outcome.
