President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud hosted a strategic dinner meeting last night at Villa Somalia, bringing together the Chairman and members of the Federal Parliament, signaling a renewed focus on national cohesion and legislative collaboration. The high-level gathering included Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre, his deputies, and regional state leaders, notably Galmudug’s Ahmed Abdi Kariye, Southwest’s Abdicasis Hassan Mohamed, and Hirshabelle’s Ali Gudlawe Hussein.
During the event, President Mohamud commended the regional leaders for participating in the National Discussion Forum, a platform dedicated to tackling pressing national issues such as security, military development, and democratic governance. He reiterated his commitment to dialogue and consensus-building, noting that inclusivity remains central to his vision for Somalia. “We are talking to our brothers who have a different perspective,” he remarked, emphasizing his willingness to engage all sides in pursuit of national unity.
The President also highlighted the essential role of the Federal Parliament, reflecting on its contributions to drafting Somalia’s constitution and defending the country’s unity amidst ongoing challenges. He expressed optimism about the upcoming legislative sessions, which he envisions will bring meaningful progress for the Somali people.
