Somali aviation authorities, along with the management of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu, stopped a Kenya Airways flight from departing. This action was taken because the airline failed to explain why it mistreated Somali passengers who were held at Nairobi Airport for over 24 hours without proper care. The incident occurred after a Kenya Airways flight, scheduled to land in Mogadishu the day before, was unexpectedly canceled.
Many Somali passengers, who had traveled from different countries, were left stranded at the airport for hours, which goes against aviation rules. The delays and lack of assistance caused a lot of frustration. In the past 24 hours, more than 15 Somali passengers have shared their difficult experiences at Nairobi Airport on social media, bringing widespread attention to the issue.
Due to this, the authorities at Aden Adde International Airport have told Risaala that Kenya Airways is now expected to compensate the affected passengers. The way the airline handled the situation has raised serious concerns, and Somali aviation officials are demanding that the airline takes responsibility and makes things right for the passengers who were mistreated. This incident shows the need for airlines to follow proper rules and treat all passengers fairly.
