Former Kenya Deputy Speaker and the current Member of Parliament for the Dadaab constituency in Kenya, Farah Maalim, has given an open invitation to Somali-American nationals who feel unwanted in the United States of America under the current regime.

His statement comes against the backdrop of the ongoing tensions in the United States of America over the proposed new immigration rules by President Donald Trump.

“If Trump does not want you in America, come to Kenya; we will accommodate you. “We know you are hardworking and peace-loving; you will help build Kenya,” said the Dadaab MP.

President Trump’s approach had drawn worldwide reactions, and it has been a major concern to the immigrants and students in the USA.

Kenya is ranked the second highest country with a large Somali population globally, with a significant number of Somalis living in the Eastleigh area in Nairobi and the northeastern counties of Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera and in the refugee camps of Dadaab.
