The Puntland House of Representatives has congratulated the newly elected members of the Jubbaland House of Representatives officially sworn into office in Kismayo on Monday. In a statement released Tuesday, Puntland Parliament Speaker Abdirizak Mohamed hailed the election as a milestone in strengthening Somalia’s federal governance structure. He commended Jubbaland’s adherence to the Federal system, which empowers Member States to manage their internal affairs.

Speaker Mohamed expressed optimism about the potential contributions of the new legislators to the region’s development and stability. “This election reflects the resilience and progress of Jubbaland’s governance,” he remarked. “We are confident that the new MPs will dedicate themselves to advancing peace, stability, and the welfare of their citizens.” He encouraged them to serve with integrity and prioritize the well-being of their constituents.

Abdirizak Ahmed Said, another senior Puntland official, acknowledged the vital role of Traditional Elders and the independent electoral committee in ensuring a fair and transparent election process. He praised their commitment to upholding constitutional standards, describing their efforts as a model for effective governance within Somalia’s federal framework.
