Somalia’s President Arrives in Tanzania for 25th East African Community Summit

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Tanzania earlier today to participate in the 25th Ordinary Summit of Heads of State of the East African Community (EAC).

Upon arrival, the President was received by officials from the Government of Tanzania as well as representatives from the Somali Embassy in Tanzania. He was subsequently escorted to the venue hosting the summit, where leaders of the member states of the East African Community have convened.

During the summit, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is expected to deliver a speech addressing the importance of strengthening regional cooperation, with particular focus on economic collaboration, security coordination, and enhancing connectivity and integration among the societies of EAC member states.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Somali President is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with leaders of member states to discuss ways of deepening cooperation and advancing mutual interests between Somalia and other countries within the East African Community.
