Foreign diplomats attend Las Anod inauguration

Diplomatic delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Sudan have departed Mogadishu and arrived in Las Anod, where they are attending the inauguration ceremony of the President of the North Eastern Somalia Administration.

The visiting diplomats are expected to be joined by ambassadors and international representatives from China and Egypt, who are also among the high-level guests participating in the event.

The presence of these foreign envoys reflects growing international engagement and support for Somalia’s state-building process, particularly ongoing efforts to strengthen security stabilization, promote national unity, and consolidate the institutional development of the North Eastern Somalia Administration.

The inauguration ceremony is expected to draw senior officials from the Federal Government of Somalia as well as representatives from federal member states. The event is widely viewed as an important step toward enhancing internal cooperation and advancing Somalia’s regional and international relations.

Meanwhile, additional ambassadors from various countries have arrived in Las Anod, the administrative capital of the Sool region, to take part in the inauguration. Among those present are the ambassadors of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan, with further diplomatic arrivals anticipated later today.

In parallel, Somali delegations traveling from Kenya have also reached Las Anod to participate in the inauguration of the senior leadership of the North Eastern Somalia Administration, which has formally joined the federal system under the Federal Government of Somalia.
