Authorities are investigating the fatal shooting of a civilian by a member of Puntland’s Darawish forces in northern Galkayo late Monday night, according to local sources.
Witnesses said the victim, identified as Abdullahi Mohamed Hassan, was a motorbike taxi (bajaaj) driver who was shot dead under circumstances that remain unclear. The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident and remains at large.
As of Tuesday morning, local officials and security agencies in Galkayo had not issued an official statement on the shooting or announced measures being taken to apprehend the suspect.
