Bosaso (Raxanreeb Online) – Security forces in Bosaso, the commercial hub and capital of Bari region, successfully repelled an overnight attack on the city’s central police station by clan-affiliated militia groups.

According to official sources, the armed groups launched a coordinated assault on the station late last night. A brief but fierce exchange of gunfire took place between the militia and Puntland security forces, resulting in the death of one attacker. No casualties were reported among the security personnel.

Authorities confirmed that the assault was swiftly contained, with the attackers forced to retreat. In the aftermath, Puntland deployed additional reinforcements to the area to prevent further violence and ensure the safety of key installations.

This incident follows a recent operation in which Puntland forces intercepted and seized a large cache of weapons believed to belong to the same militia group involved in the attack. Security officials have linked the confrontation to ongoing efforts by the Puntland administration to dismantle illegal armed networks operating in the region.
