Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Berlin on Tuesday for his first official visit to Germany since taking office in mid-2022. According to a statement from his office shared on X (formerly Twitter), he received a warm welcome from the German government upon his arrival.
President Mohamud is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Germany. Key topics on their agenda include revitalizing vocational training programs, bolstering security cooperation, and expanding overall collaboration in various sectors.
During his visit, President Mohamud will also address the Germany-Africa Investment Summit. His participation aims to advance Somalia’s growth and development by attracting investment and fostering economic partnerships with German businesses and investors.
