The people of lower Jubba province are grappling with mounting tensions near Badhaadhe district as government forces and Jubbaland’s Darawiish troops face off in close proximity. The escalating military activity has left communities on edge, fearing the possibility of conflict.
Sources close to the situation informed Shabelle Radio that, from last night into this morning, Jubbaland has been reinforcing its positions by deploying additional troops to the Raaskambooni area, where Somali National Army forces are also present. The visible increase in troop movements has heightened concerns among local residents.
At the same time, the Federal Government of Somalia has been extending its reach within the region, with forces reportedly preparing to advance into new areas. The growing presence of armed forces on both sides has created uncertainty, leaving the residents anxious about their safety and the stability of their communities.
The situation underscores the urgent need for dialogue and de-escalation to protect civilians and prevent violence. Local leaders, officials, and all parties involved are being called upon to prioritize peace and stability for the sake of the region’s residents, who remain hopeful for a resolution.
