Danab Commandos Strike Al-Shabaab Hideouts in Lower Juba Operation

Kismayo – Somali government forces, in collaboration with Jubaland State troops, have conducted a joint military operation along the banks of the Jubba River in Lower Juba region.

The mission, led by the Somali National Army’s elite Danab Commandos from the 162nd Battalion, targeted Al-Shabaab hideouts and key supply routes used by the militant group.

Officials reported that the forces successfully secured several key areas, tightened control, and increased pressure on Al-Shabaab elements operating in the region.

Commanders overseeing the operation said the militants were struck in locations where they had been regrouping, resulting in the destruction of several hideouts and logistical supplies. They added that government forces remain stationed in the liberated areas, continuing efforts to stabilize and ensure security.

The Jubaland authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to restoring peace and stability across the region, praising the courage, discipline, and coordination between Jubaland security forces and the Somali National Army in countering Al-Shabaab threats.
