DAVOS, Switzerland – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been awarded the African Presidential Leadership Award by Africa House during a ceremony in Davos, Switzerland. The award recognizes his exemplary leadership and unwavering dedication to advancing Somalia’s state-building efforts.
Under President Mohamud’s leadership, Somalia has achieved significant milestones, including the lifting of a decades-long arms embargo, completing the debt relief process, and securing membership in the East African Community (EAC). These accomplishments mark a turning point for Somalia, reflecting the nation’s progress and growing influence in the region.
In his acceptance remarks, President Mohamud expressed deep gratitude and dedicated the honor to the Somali people. He praised their resilience and determination, emphasizing that their collective spirit fuels Somalia’s transformation.
