MOGADISHU (Raxanreeb) – Somalia’s Military Court on Saturday morning executed three Al-Shabaab members convicted of carrying out targeted killings and insurgent activities in Mogadishu.
The men – identified as Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi,Yoonis, and Ibrahim Aden Maadey – were executed by firing squad after the court upheld death sentences against them.
According to military prosecutors, the convicts were part of Al-Shabaab units specializing in assassinations and hit-and-run attacks, and were found guilty of murdering respected community figures in the capital.
The executions come just days after similar sentences were carried out against other Al-Shabaab fighters convicted of deadly attacks. The Military Court noted that additional suspects remain in detention and are awaiting final rulings, with more executions expected soon.
