Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has warned that if the three major secret deals Israel is pushing with Somaliland are implemented, it may end up opening Pandora’s box in the world.

President Mohamud said the Horn of Africa and the world are facing a looming geopolitical disaster. “This is not just about Somalia; it’s about the precedent of violating territorial integrity and the destabilization of the entire Red Sea,” said President Mohamud.

In a joint parliamentary sitting this week, he said Somalia will not accept the resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza to Somaliland, as he claimed that a deal is in place to see displaced Palestinians moved to Africa.

He also said an intelligence report shows that Israel is in an advanced stage of having its military presence at the Gulf of Aden coast. He revealed that Somaliland had agreed to join the Abraham Accords.

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in a recent interview with Newsmax, maintained claims that over 6 million Muslims in Somaliland want to join the Abraham Accords. “They are democrats; they have had elections, which is a good thing. Why not support them?” said Prime Minister Netanyahu.

His comment comes amid growing protest in Somalia. The most recent region to join the ongoing protest is Hirshabelle State, where thousands took to the streets in the capital, Jowhar, to condemn Israeli aggression.

The mayor of Beledweyne in the Hiiran region led residents in protest against what they termed as interference in Somali sovereignty.
