Somali Police Arrest Officers Accused of Assaulting Civilian

Mogadishu – Somali police announced the arrest of four officers accused of severely assaulting a civilian in Mogadishu’s Siinaay neighborhood.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Wardhigley District Police Station, the Banadir Regional Police Commander, Macalin Mahdi, confirmed that the officers are suspected of assaulting Ahmed Siicow, a resident of the area. He stated that the suspects will soon be brought before a military court to face charges related to causing harm to a civilian.

Commander Mahdi further warned opposition leaders, accusing them of fueling tensions and instigating conflict in the capital.

Authorities said the case will be fast-tracked through legal channels, underscoring the government’s commitment to accountability within the security forces.
