A new military operation aimed at clearing the areas between Balcad and Jowhar of Al-Shabaab militants is set to begin, according to President of Hirshabeelle, Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Ali Guudlaawe). In a high-level meeting to discuss the operation, President Guudlaawe met with the Commander of the Somali National Army (SNA), General Ibrahim Sheikh Muxyadiin, as well as the Commander of the Ground Forces, General Dayax Abdi Abdulle, and other senior military officers.
The meeting, which also included the Speaker of the Hirshabeelle Parliament and the Governor of Balcad District, focused on the strategic plans to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants from the region, specifically the territory between the two key towns.
President Guudlaawe emphasized the unified efforts of the government to rid the entire country, and particularly Hirshabeelle, of terrorist groups.
“We are committed to a collective effort to cleanse the entire country of terrorists, especially within Hirshabeelle,” said President Guudlaawe during the meeting.
President Ali Guudlaawe is currently stationed in Balcad, where he is personally leading efforts to intensify military operations against Al-Shabaab in the area, ensuring the campaign progresses under his direct supervision.
