Muse Bihi Abdi, the former President of the Northwest Administration, has launched a direct criticism of the current head of the administration, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi “Cirro,” accusing him of concealing details of what he described as a failed agreement with Israel.
Bihi stated that, to date, neither the public nor political stakeholders have been officially briefed on the substance of the alleged agreement, despite conflicting reports emerging from Cirro’s camp and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He highlighted what he called significant uncertainty surrounding Cirro’s reported efforts to seek recognition from Israel, describing the initiative as unsuccessful in light of international opposition and diplomatic setbacks.
“The Cirro administration has yet to disclose what was agreed upon with Israel, and that transparency is expected,” Bihi said. He further warned of growing regional tensions in the Horn of Africa, drawing parallels to instability in the Middle East.
Addressing the recognition issue, Bihi argued that the developments drew international attention to the administration and contributed to rare diplomatic alignment between Egypt and Türkiye, which he said found common ground in opposing Israel’s move.
The controversy has sparked political debate across the Northwest Administration’s territories, with critics questioning why the Cirro government has not publicly addressed the reported diplomatic failure related to its outreach to Israel.
