Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held high-level talks in Türkiye with Massad Boulos, the US Senior Adviser on Arab, Middle Eastern and African Affairs, in a meeting aimed at reinforcing bilateral ties and expanding strategic cooperation.
The discussions focused on strengthening relations between Somalia and the United States, with particular emphasis on security, political engagement, and regional and international issues. In a statement posted on X, Villa Somalia said both sides underscored their shared commitment to deepening strategic partnership and advancing cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Boulos also took part in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, a major international gathering that convenes heads of state, senior diplomats, and political leaders from around the world.
The forum has served as a platform for dialogue on some of the most pressing global challenges, including international stability, multilateral cooperation, and conflict resolution.
The meeting with the US official, together with Somalia’s participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, reflects Mogadishu’s broader diplomatic push to strengthen international engagement and secure greater support for its security, state-building, and development agenda.
