GAROWE— Forces led by Jimcaale Jamaac Takar and stationed on the outskirts of Garowe have issued a statement expressing concern over reports of a possible armed confrontation in Puntland and growing tensions among the region’s security forces.

In the statement, the forces accused the Puntland administration, particularly President Said Abdullahi Deni, of contributing to the escalation of political and security tensions. They warned against allowing political disagreements to develop into armed clashes that could endanger civilians, undermine stability and create divisions within the security services.

The statement called on the people of Puntland and members of the armed forces to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could lead to bloodshed or further political and social fragmentation.

The forces urged all parties to resolve their differences through dialogue and peaceful political mechanisms, stressing the need to protect Puntland’s security, stability and social cohesion.

The statement also highlighted the role played by the Puntland Security Force, commonly known as the PSF, in maintaining security in the region over the years. It described the PSF as an institution belonging to the people of Puntland and called for unity and cooperation among the region’s security forces.

The forces concluded by warning against any political or military action that could trigger renewed violence and instability in Puntland.
