Adan Yabal – (Raxanreeb Online)- The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has confirmed the elimination of a senior Al-Shabaab commander in a targeted operation in the Middle Shabelle region.

According to an official statement, NISA forces, working alongside international partners, conducted an airstrike in the Ceel-bacad area, killing Yusuf Dhegnaas, a high-ranking Al-Shabaab leader, along with 20 of his fighters.

Dhegnaas was reportedly responsible for instilling fear among civilians and extorting money from vulnerable communities. His elimination is seen as a major step in efforts to curb the group’s activities and enhance security in the region.

The Somali government continues to intensify its fight against Al-Shabaab, with a commitment to protecting civilians and restoring stability across the country.
