MOGADISHU — The Somali Police Force, particularly the General Division Command of the Banaadir Regional Police, has arrested several individuals accused of orchestrating acts of violence and public disorder at security checkpoint areas across Mogadishu.
According to an official press statement issued by the police, the suspects were apprehended while allegedly engaging in activities deemed a threat to public security, stability, and the movement of civilians in areas where security forces were deployed to safeguard the capital.
Security agencies confirmed that preliminary investigations into the detainees are currently underway, and that the suspects are expected to be brought before the competent court to face legal proceedings. Authorities also stated that efforts are ongoing to track down additional individuals believed to have been involved in the incidents.
The Somali Police once again urged the public to refrain from any actions that could undermine the security and stability of the city, stressing that demonstrations or public gatherings conducted without official authorization from the relevant security institutions will not be tolerated.
The statement further emphasized that strict legal measures will be taken against anyone found engaging in violent acts or activities that threaten public security, in order to preserve peace, public order, and stability in Mogadishu.
