Somali Prime Minister Arrives in Las Anod for Official Visit

LAS ANOD — Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, accompanied by a delegation of cabinet ministers, arrived in Las Anod, the administrative capital of the North Eastern State of Somalia, where the federal government is implementing a range of public service and development initiatives.

The Prime Minister was warmly received at Las Anod Airport by the leadership of the North Eastern administration, traditional elders and representatives from various sections of society. His visit comes as the administration marks the first anniversary of its establishment.

Addressing a large crowd gathered at the airport to welcome him, Prime Minister Barre expressed his appreciation for the reception.

“Thank you for your warm welcome. I want you to know that I love you, that we stand together, and that I am here to join you in celebrating the anniversary of the establishment of the administration,” he said.

Several federal ministries are expected to establish public service offices in the region as part of the government’s efforts to expand essential services and support local development.

During his visit, Prime Minister Barre is also scheduled to join the leadership and residents of the North Eastern State at a public gathering commemorating the first anniversary of the administration’s establishment.
