Somali Troops Deployed to Bolster Mogadishu Security

The Somali government has deployed significant numbers of troops to Jaziira and Afgooye to strengthen security around Mogadishu. These forces have been conducting vehicle inspections and patrols in the outskirts to prevent potential threats from reaching the capital.

Mogadishu Mayor Mohamed Ahmed Amir chaired a high-level meeting with security officials to enhance collaboration between district administrations and security agencies. He praised the progress in improving the city’s safety and called for continued vigilance.

The meeting also focused on other priorities, including improving the city’s cleanliness, streamlining revenue collection, and preparing for the rainy season. Officials were urged to prioritize accountability and effective public service delivery.

Key security commanders, district commissioners, and political leaders attended the discussions. The participants emphasized coordinated efforts to maintain Mogadishu’s security and improve living conditions for its residents.
