Somalia Condemns Houthi Threats Against Saudi Arabia

MOGADISHU— The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned threats made by Yemen’s Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing them as a serious danger to regional peace, security and stability.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday, 22 July 2026, Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said the government was closely monitoring the situation and expressed deep concern over the threats attributed to the group.

The ministry stressed that the Houthis’ actions pose a direct threat to the security of vital maritime routes, freedom of navigation and the safety of international trade passing through the Red Sea.

Somalia reaffirmed its support for regional security and stability and called for respect for international law and the protection of maritime navigation and global commercial activity.
