Somalia’s Minister of Information, Abdifitah Qasim, has denied reports claiming that the Federal Government declared Southwest State President Abdicasis Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) and former Custodial Corps Chief General Mahad Abdirahman Aden (Shub) as terrorists.

Clarifying the administration’s stance, Minister Qasim emphasized that federal authorities hold no responsibility for external statements or actions surrounding the matter and rejected claims of any official designation against either leader.

“We have never stated that Laftagareen and Commander Shub are terrorists, and we have no involvement in what occurred,” the Minister stated.

The government’s response follows a recent strike on a residence belonging to General Mahad Shub in the Doolow district of the southern Gedo region, an incident that resulted in reported casualties.
