The Commander of the Banadir Regional Police Division, Mahdi Omar Mumin, on Monday presided over a high-level security review meeting aimed at assessing the prevailing security environment in the capital and reinforcing ongoing stabilization efforts.
The session brought together senior officers representing the various operational, investigative and district-level units of the Banadir Regional Police. Participants conducted a comprehensive review of recent security developments and examined the outcomes of coordinated operations carried out over the past week.
According to officials present, the commander received detailed situation reports outlining incidents that had been thwarted, progress achieved in priority operations, and the current security dynamics across Mogadishu’s districts. The discussions highlighted operational gains while identifying specific areas requiring enhanced vigilance and resource allocation.
The meeting further introduced new operational directives targeting the trafficking and consumption of narcotic substances, as well as intensified measures against criminal activities deemed detrimental to public safety and social stability. Senior officers emphasized that disrupting drug networks and curbing associated crimes remain central to broader efforts to safeguard communities.
Participants underscored the importance of strengthening inter-agency coordination and deepening collaboration with local communities to ensure effective intelligence-sharing and early threat detection.
