Garoowe (Raxanreeb Online) — Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni has welcomed the reconciliation initiative announced by Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, calling for a genuine commitment to resolving the political differences between the two sides.

In a statement issued on Saturday, President Deni emphasized the necessity of bringing all parties together to address the ongoing disputes. He urged President Hassan Sheikh to translate his call for dialogue into concrete actions.

“The President of the Federal Government has announced an initiative for national dialogue. I urge him to implement this step, as the Somali people urgently need national unity,” Deni said.

He also highlighted the importance of moving past previous conflicts and focusing on building a unified future, stressing that genuine national reconciliation is critical at this time.

The development comes amid political tensions between the Puntland administration and the federal government, with both sides expressing willingness to seek common ground.
