President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called an emergency meeting of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, bringing together members of both chambers for an extraordinary joint session scheduled for Sunday.

Officials said the President is expected to address a joint sitting of the House of the People and the Upper House in what has been described as an unusual, non-routine parliamentary gathering convened at short notice.

According to sources familiar with the preparations, the President’s remarks will focus on recent developments related to Israel and Somaliland, including the issue of recognition and its wider implications for Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
