DOOLOW— Former commander of the Somali Custodial Corps, Brig. Gen. Mahad Abdirahman Adan, widely known as Taliye Shub, has provided a new account of the attack on his residence in Doolow district, Gedo region.

Gen. Mahad said his home was targeted by an F-16 fighter jet, rejecting government statements that the incident was caused by explosives allegedly being manufactured inside the residence.

He further alleged that the airstrike was facilitated by the driver of a vehicle transporting him, claiming that the driver helped guide the aircraft toward the target. He did not provide publicly verifiable evidence to substantiate the allegation.

Gen. Mahad also denied having any knowledge of explosives manufacturing and accused the federal government of maintaining links with individuals whom he alleged had previously been involved in the production of explosives.

The former commander also sharply criticized the federal government over recent fighting and airstrikes in the city of Baidoa, questioning its handling of the security situation.

His remarks come amid continuing conflicting accounts over the circumstances surrounding the attack on his residence in Doolow. The federal government has denied involvement in the incident, while the South West State administration and other parties have maintained that the residence was deliberately targeted.

The competing accounts have not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding the Doolow incident remain disputed.
