Dhoobley (Raxanreeb Online) – In a carefully coordinated security operation, Jubbaland forces successfully apprehended Macalin Maxamuud, the deputy head of Al-Shabaab’s court in Lafo-gari, a locality within Lower Jubba province . The operation, which took place in the vicinity of Dhoobley district, was part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the militant group’s influence in the region.

According to an official statement from Jubbaland authorities, the mission was meticulously planned and executed, leading not only to the capture of Macalin Maxamuud but also to the elimination of four Al-Shabaab militants during the confrontation.

Colonel Maxamuud Heybe, the security chief of Dhoobley district, reported that the targeted location was a known Al-Shabaab hideout where approximately 20 militants had taken refuge. Jubbaland forces launched an offensive, engaging in a brief but intense firefight, resulting in the deaths of four insurgents and injuries to others.

Additionally, Colonel Heybe confirmed that the operation led to the killing of Al-Shabaab’s chief financial officer for Lafo-gari, further weakening the group’s operational capabilities in the area.

Jubbaland security forces have been ramping up their counterterrorism operations in recent months, with a firm commitment to eradicating Al-Shabaab’s presence from key regions under their jurisdiction.
