Ankara (Raxanreeb Online) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where the two leaders held in-depth discussions on strengthening bilateral ties and advancing joint efforts in security and international cooperation.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing partnership between Somalia and Türkiye, with both presidents reaffirming their commitment to enhancing collaboration in areas including counterterrorism, economic development, investment, and institutional capacity-building.
President Hassan Sheikh emphasized the importance of aligning regional and international efforts in the fight against terrorism, praising Türkiye’s active role in supporting Somalia’s peace and state-building process.
President Erdoğan, for his part, reiterated Türkiye’s steadfast support for Somalia, stressing that his government would continue to assist Somalia in rebuilding its national army, developing its economy, and strengthening government institutions.
The meeting underscored the depth of Somalia-Türkiye relations and their shared vision for stability, development, and cooperation on the global stage.
