Puntland Airstrikes Destroy ISIS Bomb-Making Factory

Puntland security forces have dealt a major blow to ISIS after airstrikes last night wiped out one of the group’s biggest bomb-making factories in the Calmiskaad Mountains.

According to Puntland’s Counter-Terrorism Command, the targeted facility in the Sheebaab area was being used to manufacture explosives and modify vehicles for attacks. The operation, they said, inflicted heavy damage on the group and eliminated several militants on site.

“The factory where ISIS was making bombs and modifying vehicles has been completely destroyed. Several militants present at the time of the strike were also killed,” the statement read.

Officials did not disclose the exact number of casualties but confirmed that the airstrikes significantly weakened the group’s presence in the region.

This isn’t the first time Puntland forces have targeted ISIS hideouts in the Calmiskaad Mountains, but the latest strike marks a major step in the ongoing fight against terrorism in the area.
